We have developed the code responsible for the 3D positioning of equipment and conveyor belts within our client's aided design software for waste management and recycling plants.
Utilising the plant schema obtained by our clients through their design software (equipment models and interconnections between them), we are able to generate a module capable of distributing this equipment and automatically generating the connections between them via conveyor belts according to user requirements. The code developed integrates BIM methodology, allowing the exploration of the final plant generated into IFC format. This enhances interoperability with other industrial design software.
The code's functionalities include geometric verification of connections (maximum belt slopes, maximum discharge distances, etc.), collision verification between positioned equipment, the ability to move equipment in three dimensions with automatic connection readjustment, as well as specific functionalities associated with waste management and recycling plants (line bifurcations and junctions, equipment on belts, flow recirculation, etc.).
In parallel with the code, a database has been developed to store information associated with the various equipment and conveyor belts available in our client's software catalogue. This database is utilised by our code during the execution of its various functionalities.
The images below do not represent actual plants; they focus on demonstrating the complexity achievable by Neikō's code.
