Neikō, acting as a structural consultant, develops the structural solution and design of the footbridge over the Lonia river and the viewpoint on the bank of the river, at the Cachamuiña reservoir. Those works are included in the Cachamuiña Recreational Area Bridge project. The footbridge structure is necessary for the replacement of the existing footbridge which does not meet the required accessibility criteria.

The structure of the footbridge has a total length of 36 m, distributed in 3 spans, 8 + 20 + 8 m. It is a straight structure, without deviation. In addition to the abutments, the footbridge is supported on 2 pairs of V-shaped metal piers, with vertical clearances of 3.30 and 4.00 m above the ground. The section width is 3.16 m, allowing a free passage of 2.5 m between the handrails.

The structure of the viewpoint of a steel grid over steel pillars. In the cantilevered areas, the structure is supported by the trusses that form the railing. The viewport serves as a transition element between the pedestrian walkways and the new footbridge, as well as a recreational area to enjoy the scenery along the banks of the Lonia river.
